The Cleveland Cavaliers’ old slogan of “All In” came in handy Saturday night at home against the Indiana Pacers. All 11 Cavs players who stepped on the floor scored in the first 15 minutes for Cleveland, who is looking for their first win of the season.
The Cavs are without All-Star power forward Kevin Love, who is out with foot soreness. As a result, the team is going to need a balanced team attack if they are going to defeat the Pacers, and it appears things are getting off to a good start.
The Cavs are 0-5 on the young season. The post-LeBron James era has not been kind to the Cavs, who are struggling on both ends of the floor. The effort has been there, it’s just that there’s not too much talent on this roster outside of Love.
Cleveland’s brass repeatedly said back in the offseason that they’re now in the player development business. Yet their pitch to Love involved a promise that they won’t be tanking this season.
As of this writing, the Cavs trail the Pacers 60-55 at halftime. Fan favorite Cedi Osman is leading the way with 10 points, while George Hill has eight points.
As always, the team’s defense has to pick up if they wish to notch their first win of the season.
