There seems to be no stopping the Cleveland Cavaliers at the moment. The Cavs are making it hard for the rest of the Eastern Conference to catch up to them atop the standings, thanks in large part to a series of incredibly long win streaks they have achieved so far in the 2024-25 NBA regular season.

Following the Cavaliers’ 139-117 victory over the Chicago Bulls at United Center in Windy City on Tuesday, Cleveland has once again put together a win streak of at least 11 games long, putting Donovan Mitchell and company in an extremely exclusive club.

With the win against the Bulls, the Cavaliers have become just the fourth team in the NBA’s history to have not just one, not two, but three win streaks that lasted at least 11 games, according to the league’s official X (formerly Twitter) account.

The other three teams in that group are the 1999-00 Los Angeles Lakers, 2006-07 Dallas Mavericks and the 2017-18 Houston Rockets.

Cleveland surprised many with its scorching start to the season by winning 15 games in a row. Considering that they entered the campaign with a new head coach in Kenny Atkinson, it was impressive then that the Cavs were able to have that kind of success right out of the gate.

The Cavaliers went on a spectacular tear again from mid-December to early January, racking up 12 straight victories, during which they averaged 126.0 points while allowing only 111.0 points to their opponents. Among their notable wins during that stretch came at the expense of the likes of the Denver Nuggets, Golden State Warriors, Oklahoma City Thunder and Lakers.

The Cavs’ current win streak is a product of their brilliant play on both ends of the floor as well. During their 11-game undefeated run, the Cavaliers have put up an average of 128.0 points while limiting rivals to just 111.1 points. They recorded a 58.1 effective field goal percentage and held opponents to only 50.1 effective field goal percentage in that span.

At the time of this writing, the Cavaliers are playing the Miami Heat, as they look to extend their win streak to 12 games.

The Cavs entered Wednesday night with a 51-10 record — eight games better than the rest of the East.
