The Cleveland Cavaliers have a major concern to address following an injury to star center Jarrett Allen.
During the second half of the Cavs’ contest against the New York Knicks on Friday, Allen suffered a right hand injury. He exited the game with 7:53 remaining in the third quarter. The team later announced he wouldn’t return but revealed the X-rays to be negative.
Before sustaining the injury, Allen finished with 10 points and three rebounds in 20 minutes of play.

Despite losing Jarrett Allen due to the hand injury, this did not stop the Cleveland Cavaliers from beating down the New York Knicks.
The Cavs overwhelmed the Knicks on both sides of the ball. They took a 41-29 lead after the first quarter and never looked back, defending homecourt at a high level en route to a dominant 142-105 victory.
Donovan Mitchell led the way with 27 points and five assists on 10-of-15 shooting from the field, including 5-of-7 from beyond the arc. Ty Jerome and De’Andre Hunter combined for 35 points off the bench, as the squad shot a red-hot 60.9% on all their shot attempts throughout the game.
Three-point shooting proved to be the major difference. The Cavaliers knocked down 19 of their triples in contrast to just 10 from the Knicks, allowing the home side to cruise to an easy win over one of the better teams in the East.
Cleveland improved to 46-10 on the season, boasting the top spot in the Eastern Conference standings. They also have the best record in the league, having a one-game lead over the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Following the win, marking their sixth straight, the Cavaliers will prepare for their next matchup. They host the Memphis Grizzlies on Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. ET.
