While the Cleveland Cavaliers are sitting comfortably atop of the Eastern Conference at 34-15, everyone has seen what the Golden State Warriors have done since their addition of Kevin Durant in the offseason. Over the past couple of weeks, both the L.A. Clippers and the Cavs have been linked to the New York Knicks and their star forward Carmelo Anthony.
On Monday, Frank Isola of the New York Daily News reported that the LeBron James is pushing for the Cavs to trade for Carmelo Anthony, even if it means giving away Kevin Love in the process.
Just last week, the Cavs were reportedly backing away from trade requests involving Kevin Love, so this would mean that James is doing the exact opposite of the what Cavs’ management wants to do. It’s also worth noting that this came from a New York based writer who has had a history of creating Kevin Love-to-Knicks rumors.
UPDATE:
Following the report, Rachel Nichols and ESPN confirmed that the Cavs denied any such push from LeBron James to trade Love to the Knicks.
