The Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Clippers have re-engages in talks that could send the veteran guard Jamal Crawford to Cleveland. Terms of the trade have not yet been discussed, but Chris Haynes of the Northeast Ohio Media Group spoke out about Crawford’s situation.
“I know Jamal personally, and I know he would definitely like to be a part of the Cavaliers’ organization.
“Jamal is one guy off the top of my head that I know would be a fit, and I know that they’ll be looking at him. They want to use that exception for a wing player.”

This deal is only expected to happen if the Cavs and free agent J.R. Smith can not come to an agreement on a deal, while Cleveland is also still looking to finalize a Tristan Thompson deal. Right now, there isn’t a much better deal of the Brendan Haywood trade exception out there than this one. And the Cavs might never find a deal that brings them a player of Jamal Crawford’s caliber.
The Cavs recently added Mo Williams and Richard Jefferson to their bench, and this move could really give them some much needed scoring from the second unit. Last year, the Finals saw James Jones as the only bench player to be able to put points on the board consistently.
