On Tuesday night at John Adams High School, the NBA’s defending champion Cleveland Cavaliers handed out replica championship rings to 125 teens who are members of local Boys & Girls Club organizations.
Members of The Boys & Girls Club were given a private ring ceremony, hosted by the legendary former Cavaliers guard Austin Carr and Cavs in-arena announcer Ahmaad Crump. A contingent of the Cavalier Girls, Scream Team, and Spirit Squad were also in attendance for the special event. The rings given to the group of teens is enscribed with the Boys & Girls Club logo on the inside. Students were also given the opportunity to take a photo with the Larry O’Brien trophy.
During the 2016 Finals, the Cavs teamed up with the NBA to renovate the club at John Adams High. Now, the remodeled facility is called the NBA Cares Live, Learn, and Play Center.
The Boys & Girls Club organization gives teens a safe, fun place to go in the inner-city. Furthermore, members of the group learn how to become productive, responsible citizens.
