The Cavaliers roster has never looked better, despite the hole that everyone claims they have at the point guard position. With the frontcourt and backcourt pretty much set for the Cavs, we look at the best veteran point guard options in the free agent market to run point as a backup to Kyrie Irving for the Cavaliers. We start with the number four option:
4. Jordan Farmar
One last free agent option for the Cavs is former Clipper Jordan Farmar. He’s another guard that is used to playing the back-up role, averaging only 19.4 mpg in his career, and only 14.7 on the season. In his limited minutes he is also efficient, recording 4.6 ppg, 1.9 apg, and 1.2 rpg, to have a PER of 10.07. The former first rounder was placed on waivers earlier in January and could be a good pick-up to back up for Kyrie as well as some shooting depth.
3. Pierre Jackson
In 2014, Pierre Jackson was dubbed the best player not in the NBA by Matt Moore of CBS Sports. He was drafted out of Baylor by the 76ers before having his draft rights traded around. He played in the D-League for the majority of the season and was eventually traded back to the Sixers and joined them for the summer league before rupturing his Achilles. On October 4, 2014, he became a free agent. He even set a D-League record by scoring 58 points on 24/33 shooting from the field in early February!

2. Sebastian Telfair
Another free agent with some experience that would make a good pick-up would be Sebastian Telfair. He was waived by the Thunder earlier in the season and is used to playing in the back-up role. He averaged 20.4 minutes per game and provided 8.4 ppg and 2.8 apg, which are both better than his career averages. He is also pretty efficient in his court time and sports a PER of 11.57.

1. Nate Robinson
A big free agent on the market is Nate Robinson. He was released by the Celtics in January and rumor has it that the Bulls are interested. I really like Nate Robinson because he fills the back-up point guard role nicely. Before he was traded this season he was averaging 14.1 minutes a game, and only averages 22.6 mpg in his career. While the minutes have affected his stats, he is still incredibly efficient. He’s sporting a 10.69 PER to go along with 5.8 ppg, 2.3 apg, and 1.2 rpg this season. He also has experience, as this is his 9th season in the NBA. He could be a great mentor to Delly and Joe Harris for years to come. Pair that with his ridiculous vertical and he can give the Cavs a spark.
