It’s hard to argue against the Atlanta Hawks being the best team in the NBA this season. They’ve been one of the best stories in the NBA after being an eight-seed last season to a clear-cut number one seed whose already clinched a playoff seed. The Cavs are right behind them however, and although it seems unlikely they’ll overtake Atlanta, they could come close. Here are 10 reasons why the Cavs are better than the Hawks this season. We start with number 10:

5. Best Point Guard in East

Jeff Teague has had a great season for the Hawks and been a great player under Mike Budenhozer the last two years, but Kyrie Irving has been the better point guard among the two of them. Kyrie Irving is averagign 21.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 1.4 steals on the season while Jeff Teague is averaging 16.8 points2.4 rebounds, 7.3 assists, and 1.7 steals.

4. Our Coach Has More Rings

Mike Budenhozer was an assistant coach on the San Antonio Spurs coaching staff from 1994-95 to the end of the 2013 playoffs, when Miami defeated them in seven games. in that time, Bud has won four championships with the Spurs.

David Blatt has won a championship in eight different tournaments around the world, including a 2014 Euroleague Championship with Israel’s Maccabi Tel Aviv and a Bronze Medal at the 2012 Olympics with the Russian National Team. Clearly, Blatt is the more decorated head coach, despite his lack of NBA coaching experience.

1. Best Player on the Planet

The Hawks have a solid starting starting lineup, but arguably their weakest position is the small forward spot. And it just so happens that the best basketball player in the world is a small forward and plays for the Cavaliers. Who wouldn’t want LeBron James on their team, a guy who’s noted for making everyone he’s sharing the floor with better?
