The Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers have shared the last two NBA Championships, proving themselves to be the two top threats in their respective conferences. One might say these powerhouse squads have formed a rivalry in recent NBA times, and even the Warriors newest prodigy Kevin Durant shared similar sentiments.
LeBron James, on the other hand, has a much different take on his relationship with the Warriors team. He recently spoke for his team regarding the topic.
“We don’t look at it as a rival,” James remarked. “They’re a great team. They’ve been the best team the last couple years, last three years.”
Instead of using the Warriors as a competitive motivator, the King simply sees this top western conference team as just another opponent. Something not to surprising from a player at his level.
“It’s just the next game, it’s Golden State,” continued James. “They’re a hell of a team, like I said the best team in the league and they’ve been that way the last three years, four years, however long it’s been, I’m not quite sure. But, listen, you guys know, we don’t put all our eggs in one basket for one game.”
Hopefully LeBron and the Cavs pull together just like on Christmas Day and get that next win on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
