With free agency just around the corner every rumor is coming out about where LeBron James will land, some of the rumors have some merit, and some seem to be people just looking too far into things that really don’t matter.

Marla Ridenour of the Akron Beacon Journal appeared on ESPNLA 710 to talk about James’ upcoming free agency and said that she heard James say he doesn’t like Houston as a city.

“I heard this from his own lips when we were in Houston this season, he does not like Houston as a city. That would require him moving to a place that he’s not crazy about.”

The Houston Rockets have been considered one of the favorites to land the King’s service, but if he doesn’t like the city it’s going to be hard to imagine James deciding to play basketball there for the next few years.

Ridenour also said that people forget that not only is James from Akron, his wife’s family is also from Akron, and that could be a draw to stay with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

“I would say amongst the media, most of us are pessimistic about him staying. Every time he’s talked about this, this season, and on the final night of the season, he mentioned family first. His wife’s family is all from the Akron area, part of that makes you think he wants his kids to be around that side of the family. That’s the part that Cavs fans are hanging on to, praying that that becomes a deciding factor.”

Where James ends up will be decided in the next few months, but expect a lot more of these rumors to keep dropping around the NBA.
