LeBron James moves up in the triple-double and assists lists in finals history

With yet another stellar performance on Sunday, LeBron James has once again made history by tying the great Magic Johnson for most triple-doubles in the finals.

The King now has eight finals triple doubles in his career with a good chance to take the lead over the Los Angeles Lakers legend, as he clearly still has a long way to go before he hangs his sneakers for good.

However, that’s not the only record he made on the night. James was also able to surpass another Laker great, Jerry West, to grab the second all-time finals mark in assists with 307 so far. Johnson is still the on top of the list by a considerable margin with 584 throughout his legendary career.

During Game 1, the former four-time MVP became the player with the second most three-pointers in the finals as well.

James finished Game 2 with 29 points, 11 rebounds, and 14 assists, but his efforts went to waste as the Cavs were once again blown out by the Dubs, who took a 2-0 lead in the finals.
