Tyronn Lue and the Cleveland Cavaliers opted to rest LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Love last night against the L.A. Clippers in what was a Saturday night Primetime matchup shown on ABC. Given that the game was the first of a back-to-back set in Los Angeles, Lue was likely going to sit his stars for one of the games, and it happened to be Saturday.
While James was out due to rest, Irving and Love both sat out as they were recovering from separate knee issues. According to head coach Tyronn Lue, however, all three players will return tonight against the Los Angeles Lakers.
This will be Love’s second game back from arthroscopic surgery to remove loose bodies from his knee. He missed the previous four weeks to recover but came on to play 20 minutes and finish with 10 points and nine rebounds on Thursday night against the Utah Jazz.
