Last night, the NBA’s defending champion Cleveland Cavaliers were in Boston for a matchup against the Celtics inside the famed TD Garden, which resulted in a 103-99 victory for the C’s. In attendance at last night’s game was one of the greatest NFL coaches of all time: Bill Belichick.

Belichick, head coach of the New England Patriots and five-time Super Bowl champion (plus two as a defensive coordinator), was sat just beyond the baseline with his girlfriend, Linda Holliday, enjoying the prime-time matchup. Towards the end of Wednesday night’s game, Belichick and Holliday received an unexpected visit from LeBron James.

In the fourth quarter of the bout, James attempted to snatch an offensive rebound, but ended up careening into the vacinity of Belichick’s courtside seat.

After the game, James told reporters that he tried to slow down because he knew it was Belichick in his path.

Via Fox Sports:

“I definitely slowed up because I knew it was him,” James told reporters after the game. “I’m not taking no legend out.”

Shortly after midnight last night, James, always thoughtful, posted a message on Twitter to show his respect for the legendary New England coach.
