Fans of LeBron James in Manila were greeted with disappointment after news broke out that the Cleveland Cavaliers superstar’s visit has been cancelled.

It was supposed to be the first leg of James’ Asian tour for Nike. For those aware of the recent headline grabbers in the Philippines, it’s easy to speculate as to why the promotional gig got cancelled.

Terror threats have arisen in the country’s capital after a bombing incident a few days ago. And just recently, the Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte issued a controversial comment relating to the POTUS himself, resulting in a cancellation of the meeting between the two leaders.

But Nike has already issued a statement as to why the trip had to be postponed (hat tip to Sports Illustrated PH).

This would have marked LeBron James’ third visit to Manila, but Filipino fans will have to wait longer for that to happen.
