For the last six years, teams like the Bulls and Pacers have assembled championship contending teams yet have always fallen short. The reason for that? LeBron James.

James has been dominating the Eastern Conference for his entire career and now that he’s led teams to the NBA Finals six straight times, it seems like because of him, his teams can’t be beat.

This is a line of thinking that even his opponents have adopted. At least that’s how Raptors All-Star Kyle Lowry feels.

From The Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski:

“They’ve got LeBron James,” Lowry told The Vertical late Friday night. “Nobody’s closing the gap on him. I mean, that’s it right there: They’ve got LeBron James and nobody’s closing the gap on him.”

Lowry knows this from first-hand experience. The Raptors battled the Cavs valiantly in the Eastern Conference Finals last year but lost. And the same thing is being played out in the second-round of this year’s playoffs as led by James, the Cavs have just been dominating Toronto all the way to series sweep.

This is why it’s hard to disagree with Lowry because as long as the Cavs have James, Cleveland seems invincible in the East.
