Earlier this afternoon, the NBA’s defending champion Cleveland Cavaliers announced that they have assigned rookie point guard Kay Felder to the Canton Charge for their home game against the Delaware 87’ers tonight.

This marks Felder’s third appearance with the Charge. In both of his first two outings with the team, the scrappy 5-foot-9 ball-handler put on quite a show. In fact, Felder has played so well for the Charge that he is averaging 30.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 6.0 assists in 41.5 minutes prior to tonight’s matchup.

And in true Kay Felder fashion, he did not disappoint the Charge.

For those who are wondering: Sending Felder to the Charge does not create an open roster spot, as he is still a member of the Cavaliers. It seems like this move was made to get the rookie playmaker a bit more playing time.

According to Joe Vardon of cleveland.com, Felder will likely be recalled to the Cavaliers in time for their prime-time match-up against the Chicago Bulls on Saturday night at 8:30 p.m. EST.
