Earlier this evening, Cleveland Cavaliers sharpshooter J.R. Smith shared some great news with his followers on Instagram.

Over the past few months, Smith and his wife, Jewel, have been dealing with the premature birth of their daughter, Dakota, who was born nearly five months prematurely in February. Dakota has been staying at a Cleveland-area children’s hospital — until today.

Smith, beaming with happiness, posted several photos of his family leaving the hospital today with little Dakota in a stroller. She’s finally coming home.

As you can see, Smith was sure to thank the doctors and nurses involved in caring for his daughter. On Mother’s Day, the smooth-shooting swingman purchased flower arrangements for every mother in Dakota’s NICU unit.

While this is indeed excellent news, we should continue to keep Dakota and the Smith family in our thoughts and prayers going forward.
