An important ingredient of an exciting playoff series is the battle between two superstars. For the Cleveland Cavaliers` LeBron James, there’s no other marquee matchup in the Eastern Conference at his position that Paul George of the Indiana Pacers.

These two electrifying athletes have had their postseason battles from the time James was with the Miami Heat, and now, they could potentially go at it one more time if the Pacers manage to slide down towards the 8th and final playoff spot in the East.

But on the Pacers` side mirrors are the Detroit Pistons, another team that’s battling for the lifeline of avoiding the Cavs in the first round. Note that the Pacers and Pistons share the same win-loss record (43-37) but the former holds the winning end of the tiebreaker over the latter.

So, for the LeBron James-Paul George showdown to take place, Indiana must, at least, tie whatever record Detroit ends up with in the final two regular season playdates. Here are both teams’ remaining games:

April 12
Indiana Pacers vs New York Knicks
Detroit Pistons vs Miami Heat

April 13
Indiana Pacers @ Milwaukee Bucks
Detroit Pistons @ Cleveland Cavaliers

Of those teams that are going to play a part in this scheme of things, Miami will be looking to notch a victory in order to go up the rankings, while the New York Knicks and Milwaukee Bucks both have nothing left to play for at this point. The Cavaliers, on the other hand, are expected to rest their three stars in their regular season finale.
