On Monday, the Cavs and Pelicans square off at the Quicken Loans Arena. This is sure to be an interesting game as the frontcourts of Kevin Love/Anderson Varejao and Anthony Davis/Omer Asik will showcase aggressive rebounding and relentless scoring.

{adinserter 2}Kevin Love is averaging 17.8 points albeit on 36.4 % shooting and is grabbing 12.0 rebounds per game. We have also been given a glimpse of Love’s signature outlet passes throughout the first four games of the season. His matchup with Davis will surely leave you hanging from your seat. Anthony Davis is currently averaging 23.8 points, 13.3 rebounds and 4 blocks and has solidified his status as one of the league’s best players. We’ll definitely see a skirmish between the two under the basket and also a lot of second chance points by Davis (who is currently averaging 5.0 offensive rebounds). We’ll also see if Davis’s defense makes an impact on the game. Currently, Love is averaging lower points, rebounds and blocks then Davis, but this match up is just to good to miss.

The centers matchup is also going to be a fun one to watch. Varejao is currently averaging 9.3 points and 6.0 rebounds on 53.3 % shooting; and while Andy has been splitting minutes with Tristan Thompson, he has shown great efficiency with 28.8 minutes per game. Asik, who the Pelicans picked up during the off season, is currently averaging a double-double (10.8 points, 11.3 rebounds). Asik is also doing an exceptional job swatting away shots (1.8 blocks per game) and he has complimented Anthony Davis well so far this season. Varejao and Asik will definitely be getting heated in Monday’s matchup and this certainly something you don’t want to miss, Cavs Nation!
