As most basketball fans know, the Cleveland Cavaliers are interested in trading for Chicago Bulls swingman Jimmy Butler.

Butler, a three-time NBA All-Star, would certainly be a fine addition to the Cavs’ roster. However, there seems to be conflicting reports circling the Butler-to-Cleveland wagon.

On Wednesday morning, Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times reported that some members of the Cavaliers organization who were once in favor of Butler coming to Cleveland are now asking him to stay away, likely due to the departure of David Griffin as their general manager. According to Cowley, the Cavs are worried about an “unforeseen early breakup of their star-studded roster.”

Shortly after Cowley’s news broke, Sam Amico of Fox Sports Ohio and AmicoHoops.net tweeted that any news of Cavs players telling Butler to stay away from Cleveland is false, calling it “absolute fabrication.”
