Cleveland Cavaliers superstar small forward LeBron James is known as a generous person. Many of his fans are familiar with the various charitable acts he has been involved with over the course of his illustrious 14-year career in the NBA (see The LeBron James Family Foundation, I Promise Network, and Wheels for Education programs).

The King is also known for being charitable with his teammates and coaches. In fact, Memphis Grizzlies head coach David Fizdale recently told ESPN’s Mike and Mike that James cares about every single member of the team.

“He’s personal, he cares, he really cares about the 15th guy on the bench, he cared about us as coaches,” coach Fizdale said of James.

Coach Fizdale, who was an assistant coach with the Miami Heat during James’ stint in South Beach, knows The King’s generosity well. Coach Fizdale went on to say that he received several gifts from James for no apparent reason.

Via Kristian Winfield of SB Nation:

“I don’t know how many times I came into the office and there was a gift on our desk from LeBron because he’d get so much free crap,” coach Fizdale said. “I never got so many Christmas gifts in my life. He would do stuff like that for no reason. That was the part I will always remember about him, the things he would do for us. He put me in a commercial once as a wedding gift. How about that? Because I said, ‘Don’t get me anything.’ Instead of him listening, he says ‘Hey coach, why don’t you be in the Samsung commercial with me?’ You know, that’s a nice little check for an assistant coach. And (the card) says, ‘Hey man, congratulations on your wedding.'”

Not that he needed any further validation, but it’s acts like this that prove James is a good person. You just never know when or where a gift from The King might show up.
