The Cleveland Cavaliers recently got some unsettling news regarding some remarks from their head coach John Beilein, so the team was definitely looking for some positive steps in Thursday night’s game against the Detroit Pistons. Luckily, they got it, as the Cavs rallied and defeated the Pistons by a final score of 115 to 112. Tristan Thompson was one of the main reasons why, and he even helped draft up the team’s final play (which sadly led to a turnover, but that’s beside the point).

Thompson had a whale of a game, producing a career-high in points with 35 (on 15 of 20 shooting) with 14 rebounds (7 of which were offensive), 3 assist, 3 blocks and a +10 on/off rating.

In a contract year, the 28-year-old big man is having his best season ever with career-highs in points (12.2) and rebounds per game (10.4). Thompson is also a popular name in trade rumors as the deadline approaches.

Perhaps coaching is in the cards, too – following Thompson’s clipboard wizardry on Thursday night.
