Jarrett Allen was unavailable for the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday when they defeated the Charlotte Hornets, 114-108. The Cavs face the Hornets again on Tuesday, and it has now been confirmed that Allen will be out for a second straight game due to an eye injury.

Jarrett Allen injury status vs. Hornets

The Cavs wasted no time updating Allen’s status for Tuesday’s game. Cleveland has already confirmed that their 6-foot-11 center will be out of commission again against the Hornets as he continues to nurse a contusion in his right eye.

The good news for the Cavs is that apart from Allen, no other player has been listed on the injury report. As such, Cleveland should have no trouble defeating the LaMelo Ball-less Hornets, who currently have the second-worst record in the Eastern Conference.

Allen’s next chance to suit up will be on Wednesday when the Cavs take on the Philadelphia 76ers on the second night of a back-to-back set. Cleveland obviously needs Allen in the paint if they want to stand a chance against MVP frontrunner Joel Embiid. Without Allen in the mix, the Cavs frontcourt will have a hard time trying to prevent another offensive explosion from the Sixers’ superstar big man.

That’s going to be a big game for both teams as Cleveland tries to close the gap with the third-placed Sixers. Currently, the Cavs are 3.5 games behind the 76ers at fourth, but a win on Wednesday will go a long way for the Cavs.
