Newly acquired Cleveland Cavaliers forward Sam Dekker sent out an open invitation on Wednesday afternoon in hopes of organizing a pickup game. The 24-year-old simply asked, “Cleveland, where we hooping tomorrow?”

One Twitter user, @DatDudeLA, decided to respond with a backhanded challenge.

Dekker actually responded to this potty-mouthed challenge, but he raised the stakes quite a bit. Instead of the initial $100 bet, Sam suggested a $10,000 wager.

As most hoops fans know, Dekker — a first-round pick by the Houston Rockets in 2015 — is no slouch on the court. While playing collegiate ball with the Wisconsin Badgers, the Sheboygan native earned two second-team All-Big 10 honors. And in case you didn’t know, he was Wisconsin’s Mr. Basketball in 2012.

The Cavs acquired Dekker earlier this month in a trade with the LA Clippers. Without a doubt, he should be a solid addition to the team’s depth at the forward position. He’ll earn $2.76 million this season and is slated to be a restricted free agent next summer.

Whether or not this game will come to fruition remains to be seen, but it sounds like both sides are interested. Be sure to keep your browsers locked on Cavs Nation for more updates on this topic as they become available.
