In case you haven’t heard, the sky is apparently falling in Cleveland. The Cavaliers are going through what seems like a never-ending slump of poor form and losses. It feels like forever since the Cavs last picked up a meaningful victory and all was well in “The Land.”

This has, of course, increased the spotlight on a team that is already constantly under the radar. With the pressure rising with every passing loss, the Cavs’ roster has been in countless trade scenarios to reshape this team in order to change the vibe and results inside Quicken Loans Arena.

Trade rumors are flying around, with some gaining serious traction as the deadline quickly approaches. One of those is Sacramento Kings’ guard George Hill making his way to playing alongside LeBron James and company. Reports via ESPN have confirmed the Cavs and Kings have been in serious and progressive discussions which would send Hill to the Cavs in exchange for Channing Frye, Iman Shumpert, and a future draft pick.

The trade is both realistic and fitting for the Cavs, who can acquire a player who has played great one-on-one defense for his entire career at a time where the team can’t defend anyone. George would slide into either guard position and wouldn’t demand the ball to be effective. He’s also transformed into a reliable 3-point shooter who can knock down some much-needed long balls right now.

Although it will be sad to see both Frye and Shumpert potentially leave the Cavs locker room, they may not be the only ones finding themselves in a new city come the trade deadline. ESPN’s Brian Windhorst has suggested that the former world champions could opt for a complete roster reconstruction.

It’s a worrying time in Cleveland right now, but the storm can’t last forever. It’s more than likely this struggle is only a temporary situation before this team re-discovers their identity and commitment to each other.

It’s almost certain there will be movement within this roster. Its inevitable change is needed, one way or another. How much is still yet to be seen, and how much the Cavs are willing to risk to change their results is an interesting proposition moving forward.
