Obviously, the Cleveland Cavaliers would want to have LeBron James on their roster for a long time, but rumors say that the team may fail to convince The King to commit long-term.

It’s understandable if the Cavaliers superstar’s trust with the organization has really been tainted because of the Kyrie Irving trade to the Boston Celtics.

The Celtics are being led right now by the former Cavaliers guard to the 1st seed in the East. The team has a record of 34-12 while Irving is averaging 24.1 points, 3.6 rebounds and five assists.

On the other hand, the pieces the Cavaliers got from the Irving trade are not having the most significant impact on the team.

Isaiah Thomas has only played six games for the Cavaliers so far because of a hip injury. The 5-foot-9 guard is averaging 14.8 points, but the defensive liabilities brought by his size are something to think about.

Jae Crowder is doing okay himself, but the young Ante Zizic is not getting any playing time.

The Brooklyn Nets’ pick is also starting to become less valuable than expected. The Nets are not playing the best basketball, but they have Spencer Dinwiddie and a D’Angelo Russell that is looking to return on the court.

The Cavaliers may not be getting the results or showing the potential to convince James to sign long-term. But they may have just enough to make James stay a little longer.

After all, the team still has Isaiah Thomas, Kevin Love and the Nets pick that can prove to be a valuable trading piece for another solid player.
