The Cleveland Cavaliers are looking to make some changes to their lineup over the next few weeks as the trade deadline looms. This was reported by the New York Post’s Marc Stein whose “trusted source” appears to have the inside track on the Cavs’ front office plans.

A trade makes sense for Cleveland who’s coming off its worst stretch of the season, losing nine of their last 12 games, including four straight after tonight’s loss to the Golden State Warriors.

The Cavs’ individual players are some of the best in the league on paper, but team chemistry appears to be an issue as coach Tyronn Lue is struggling with lineup combinations. This midseason slide is alarming, to say the least, with the team not wanting to head into the All-Star break with a losing month.

Rumors and speculations have been persistent for the past weeks that the Cavs are interested in acquiring L.A. Clippers center, DeAndre Jordan.

Cleveland.com‘s Joe Vardon stated back in November that a trade between the two teams could be explored with Tristan Thompson as the trade bait to bring the All-Star center to the Land.

“A league source believes this move, Jordan for Thompson, is one the Cavs would consider. How the Brooklyn pick figured in remains to be seen (Cleveland also has its own No. 1 pick), but if the Cavs felt Jordan was the only piece missing for them to take down the Warriors they’d have to consider this.”

One has to wonder if this is the deal that Stein’s source says the Cavs are considering.

If Jordan ends up wearing wine and gold before the trade deadline, he will definitely help solve the team’s interior defensive problems. But will he be enough to bring the championship back to Cleveland?
