The Portland Trail Blazers are reportedly eyeing Kevin Love from the Cleveland Cavaliers, while the Phoenix Suns could be interested in making a move for the Cavs star.

Speaking on the Woj & Lowe Trade Deadline Special, Zach Lowe said that the Cavs are looking to trade Love for a first-round pick plus some additionals. The Blazers — which happens to be in Love’s hometown of Oregon — are seen as suitors. The Suns, who have greatly improved this year, might look into a possible deal as well.

The Cavs have reportedly made Love available in trade talks. He has three years with approximately $91 million left in his contract. While it will create a dent in any team’s cap space, the 31-year-old Love is still seen as a great asset.

The Blazers have been a perennial playoff team for the last couple of years. Last year, they even made it to the Western Conference Finals, which is a great feat in itself.

However, so far in the 2019-20 season, the Terry Stotts-coached squad seems to be falling off the radar. They added Carmelo Anthony, which has given them up relative boost, but it is still not enough. The front office has realized that more needs to be addressed if they want to remain relevant in the West.

The Suns, meanwhile, are no longer the laughing stock of the league. Head coach Monty Williams has utilized the team’s youth and energy to create a system that’s capable of winning. Their inexperience can be a liability at times. Adding Love — a 12-year veteran with championship experience — will surely boost the team’s chances of completely turning things around and making the playoffs.
