Multiple officials from the Golden State Warriors claim LeBron James’ performance in Game 1 of the 2018 Finals was the best game they have ever seen in person, according to Zach Lowe of ESPN.

James almost single-handedly won Game 1 of the Finals for the Cavs. The King put up 51 points, eight rebounds and eight assists in 47 minutes while shooting 19-of-32 from the field, 3-of-7 from beyond the arc and 10-of-11 from the free-throw line.

The Cavs wound up losing Game 1 and the series. After George Hill missed a free throw which would have given Cleveland a one-point lead, J.R. Smith got the offensive rebound and dribbled the ball out to the perimeter.

Smith thought the Cavs were up one.

LeBron put forth perhaps his greatest playoff run ever last season, and almost won Game 1 of the 2018 Finals by himself. Multiple Golden State officials have told me it is the best game they have ever seen someone play in person.

One of the greatest memes in sports history was created after Smith’s blunder, as LeBron James was pointing in disarray as to what J.R. had just done.

The Warriors swept the Cavs in the Finals. James averaged 34.0 points, 8.5 rebounds and 10.0 assists in the four-game sweep. The four-time MVP and three-time Finals MVP signed with the Lakers in July.
