Any doubt that Tyronn Lue wasn’t going to be back with the Cleveland Cavaliers seems to be squashed with the news from Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com that Lue will be with the front office for the draft tonight.

This is news just a few days after there was some shakeup of the Cavs coaching staff. Jim Boylan and Phil Handy were let go and Vitaly Potapenko left to join the Memphis Grizzlies. It appears for now that Tyronn Lue will hold on to his job for at least one more.

The Cavs hold the 8th pick in this draft and with as deep of a draft as this one is, there is still a lot of talent that will be on the board with that pick. This is the pick in return from the trade that sent Kyrie Irving to the Boston Celtics (this was originally the Brooklyn Nets pick).

Some mock drafts have the Cavs selecting Trae Young who has the chance to be a star in this league. Others have the Cavs taking Michael Porter Jr, who many believed would be the number one pick when the first mock drafts came out a year ago, but injury concerns have made some teams stay away.

The Cavs could also trade this pick for an established star like Kemba Walker, but that would be a huge risk unless they are absolutely sure that LeBron James will either pick up his player option, or decline the option but resign with the team during free agency.
