The Cleveland Cavaliers are in Milwaukee Monday taking on the Bucks and unfortunately lost starting big man Tristan Thompson for the game.

Thompson suffered a left foot injury and will not return to the game. Before exiting, Thompson played 18 minutes and finished with 12 points and seven rebounds.

In 26 games entering Monday, Tristan Thompson is averaging 12.0 points and 11.8 rebounds per game and shooting 54.2 percent from the field and 61.2 percent from the free-throw line. The 27-year-old has 15 double-doubles on the season.

The Cavs entered Monday at 6-20. It’s a rebuilding year in Cleveland with LeBron James now in Los Angeles. Thompson has taken on the challenge of being the new leader of the Cavs and he’s done a good job of playing hard and doing his best to hold his teammates accountable.

There’s just not enough talent on this team to win games, even in the Eastern Conference.

Tristan Thompson is making $17.47 million this year and will make $18.54 million next season. We will have more updates on Thompson’s status once Cavs head coach Larry Drews announces them.
