Cleveland Cavaliers big man Tristan Thompson is a Hollywood kind of guy. Despite the fact that he has been with the Cavs for the entirety of his eight-year career in the NBA, the bright lights of L.A. are simply too attractive for the 27-year-old, which is where he spends most of his days during the offseason.

Recently, Thompson reportedly splurged on a multi-million dollar luxury mansion in Los Angeles. This report comes from James McClain of Variety.

The NBA baller, who famously sired a daughter with ex-girlfriend Khloe Kardashian and launched a media frenzy by reportedly indulging in a brief fling with social media celebrity Jordyn Woods, has selected a brand-new mansion in the increasingly swank San Fernando Valley community of Encino. Built on speculation by an L.A.-based apparel entrepreneur, the vaguely Cape Cod/contemporary mini-compound confection boasts seven bedrooms in nearly 10,000 square feet of living space spread across two separate structures.

The property reportedly put a $6.5-million hole in Thompson’s pocket, which is more than a third of the money he is expected to earn next season. The 6-foot-10 big man will be entering the fourth year of his five-season deal with the Cavs, and is looking at another $36 million in salaries over the next couple of years.

Tristan Thompson saw a resurgence to his game last season, as he put up 10.9 points (on 52.9 percent shooting), 10.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 0.7 steals, and 0.4 blocks in 27.9 minutes per contest. The Cavs have struggled withuot LeBron James, but his departure has given more opportunities for guys like Thompson, so at the end of the day, it’s all good.
