The Cleveland Cavaliers have sputtered off to a 5-6 start to begin the 2017-18 NBA season. Of course, with so many faces come and gone, getting assimilated was expected to take some time.

Cleveland has been vocal about their struggles starting games as one of the factors for their current play, However, they have still managed to maintain their status as one of the most formidable offensive squads in the NBA, according to Bleacher Report’s Greg Swartz:

It is certainly surprising to see the Cavaliers have seemingly yet to miss a beat on offense despite the departure of four-time All-Star Kyrie Irving. Their success so far can likely be attributed to the dynamic play of superstar LeBron James. The three-time champ has had to pick up the slack for the struggling starting group, averaging 28.9 points and 9.1 assists per game.

Meanwhile, four-time All-Star Kevin Love has had to take on a larger role on offense as well with 17. 6 points per game on 42.7 percent from the field. Former NBA MVP Derrick Rose has tried to do his best to fill the void left by Irving, but he just has not been able to bring that same punch from the three-point line. Regardless, the Cavaliers should only get better as the team continues to gel, along with the impending return of two-time All-Star Isaiah Thomas.
