It appears a LeBron James fan evacuated a school in Florida.
Someone reportedly wearing a James jersey from when he was with the Miami Heat snuck into a classroom, stood up and tossed some powder in the air. You know, like James used to do before every game he played.
But the chalk toss — or in this case, power toss — so freaked out the school officials that the entire building was evacuated, per Jeff Weiner of the Orlando Sentinel.
“The suspect stood up in a class that he is not believed to be a student in, and threw powder in the air,” the agency tweeted. “Out of an abundance of caution, we evacuated the classroom and the building while we investigate.”
Weiner also reported that the person who allegedly pulled off this stunt escaped, and the police are not looking for him. The police were apparently forced, in a way, to treat the matter the same way they would some sort of chemical attack, per Weiner.
“We think it was going to be some type of stunt, like the LeBron James stunt, but unfortunately, with the current threat situation the way it is, our firefighters have treated it as a hazmat situation,” he said.
This is what the world has come to. A LeBron fan can’t even go into a class and mark the beginning of a school day with a ceremonial powder toss.
At least the police department has somewhat of a sense of humor about the whole thing.
