As members of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Richard Jefferson and Channing Frye forged a bond of friendship that will live on for years to come. Their popular podcast, Road Trippin’ with R.J and Channing became an instant hit among avid hoops fans. However, now that Jefferson is no longer with the Cavs, the show has been forced to make a few changes.

Richard Jefferson may be gone, but the show will go on with a new title: “Road Trippin’: Richard vs. Channing.”

“The duo’s Road Trippin’ podcast, which also features Cavs broadcast personalities Allie Clifton and Rafael Hernandez Brito, has split into two different shows,” Joe Vardon of cleveland.com writes in his recent article.

“Frye, Clifton, and Brito will maintain the Cavs’ version — their first episode together uploaded to iTunes Monday and featured former Cavs greats Austin Carr and Jim Chones — and Jefferson will host his version with members from his new team, the Denver Nuggets.

“Jefferson’s first show is set to upload to iTunes on Thursday. The idea for the “Richard vs. Channing” format is for the two podcasts to not only feature team-centric conversation, but for Frye and Jefferson to offer their opinions on the same topics each week.”

Shortly after he was traded to the Atlanta Hawks on the final day of training camp (then waived), Jefferson, now 37 years of age, accepted a one-year, $2.3 million veteran’s minimum contract with the Denver Nuggets.

Without question, R.J. was (and always will be) a beloved member of the Cavaliers organization. His contributions to the team, as well as the city of Cleveland and its surrounding neighborhoods, should not be brushed aside.
