Richard Jefferson is now an ex-Cleveland Cavalier and just before bidding the team adieu one last time, the 37-year-old made sure to shoot one more verbal arrow towards Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green. Jefferson was traded this week by Cleveland to the Atlanta Hawks, who then waived the forward.

Axelrod got the quote during a live recording of Jefferson and Channing Frye’s popular podcast, Road Trippin’ at Crocker Park on Saturday.

Richard Jefferson has some axe to grind with Draymond Green, as the Cavs and the Warriors have developed animosity towards each other, which is only natural for two teams that have faced each other in each of the last three NBA championship finals series.

Green and the Warriors beat Cleveland in five games in the Finals last June, but Richard Jefferson will not simply take that sitting down and let his ego be dented without him at least trying to verbally retaliate. Choosing to remind Draymond Green that the Cavs set an NBA Finals record by scoring 86 points in the first half of Game 4 of that series won’t really rattle Green, but it’s a nice fact for Jefferson to cling to.
