The Cleveland Cavaliers have been dealing with a myriad of injuries as of late, and it sounds like that trend will continue (for now). According to a report from ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, Tristan Thompson and Rodney Hood have been ruled out of Wednesday night’s game against the Toronto Raptors.

Thompson, now 27 years of age, has been out of commission due to a sprained ankle. The former fourth overall pick in the 2011 Draft has played in 42 games with the Cavs this season, averaging 6.3 points on 58.8 percent shooting from the field and 6.5 rebounds.

Due to back pain, Hood, 25, was forced to leave during the third quarter of a game against the Portland Trail Blazers earlier this month. It seems as though the former Duke Blue Devil will need just a bit more time to recover from his ailment.

In his 12 appearances with the Cavs this season (five starts), Hood has racked up averages of 9.8 points on 40.7 percent shooting from the field (31.8 percent from beyond the arc), 2.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists.

The Cavs have started over 20 different lineups this season, and they’ll do the same on Wednesday night. According to McMenamin, acting head coach Larry Drew will go with Jose Calderon, George Hill, LeBron James, Jeff Green and Kevin Love as starters against the Raptors.

Wednesday night’s Cavs-Raptors game is scheduled to tip inside Quicken Loans Arena at 7:00 p.m. EST with FOX Sports Ohio and ESPN having live broadcast coverage. Let’s see who comes out on top between two of the best teams in the Eastern Conference.
