Another day in the life of Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James, another series of topics to break down. This Sunday, among them is James’ decision to use basketball fashion as a medium to express his desire for absolute social equality in the country.

The three-time NBA MVP donned an uneven colored pair of Nike LeBron 15s Sunday against the Washington Wizards to convey his message. Also emblazoned on his shoes was the word “Equality.” That the Cavs played in nowhere else but the nation’s capital was symbolic also of James’ distaste for US President Donald Trump.

Here’s what James said about his decision to wear the said shoes, per Tim Bontemps of The Washington Post.

It has been made clear over and over before that LeBron James is one of the foremost non-political social change-pushers in the United States. The Cavs star used his elevated platform as a famous entity to raise awareness about the several injustices that the blacks and the minorities continue to endure to this day. It’s a huge, deep-seated issue James is dipping his hands on, but he’s setting a good example nonetheless.

LeBron James also dropped a triple-double (20 points, 15 assists, 12 rebounds) in the Wizards game, helping the Cavs notch a 106-99 win, sending a separate message across the NBA that says he is still far from done.
