The Cleveland Cavaliers are in trouble, and LeBron James knows it. After an abysmal 148-124 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday at home, many are thinking whether or not significant changes would be made to the Cavs’ roster. And it’s not crazy to think head coach Tyronn Lue could now be on the hot seat.

James addressed the possibility of Lue’s firing after the game, per Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com.

James may not be privy to the conversations being had by the front office of the Cavs. But it’s difficult to believe that he won’t have a say, and it’s even more difficult to believe that he isn’t at least aware of them.

James is the franchise’s most important player, and with speculation that he might leave Cleveland after this season, the organization has every incentive to try to keep him happy.

That would mean consulting him about the possibility of a new coach, and who that new coach might be.

It’s clear that something has to change quickly. It’s difficult to discern whether or not Lue has lost the locker room, or if it’s just that he doesn’t have the right mix of players on his roster to contend this season.

Not having the players is not Lue’s fault. He doesn’t draft or sign them. But it is his job to figure things out with the players that he has, and he also has James to help him lead the Cavs.

James did not offer much of a ringing endorsement for Lue, either. Things could go south here very fast.
