After Wednesday night’s 102-88 loss to the Boston Celtics inside the famed TD Garden, the Cleveland Cavaliers find themselves as losers in four of their last five games. It’s certainly a concern, but LeBron James says the Cavs should be in full stride once Isaiah Thomas is playing consistent minutes.
“I don’t know who we are or who we can be until we get IT back consistently,” James told Sam Amico of AmicoHoops.net following Wednesday night’s game in Beantown. “We’ll be fine though.”
The Cavs posted one of their worst shooting performances in recent history against the Celtics on Wednesday. Several member of the team struggled to find a rhythm, including Kevin Love (1-for-11 from the field), Jae Crowder (2-12), Jeff Green (3-11) and Dwyane Wade (3-11). For perspective, the Cavs finished Wednesday night’s game with a 34.8 percent mark from the field (8-of-32 from beyond the arc, 32 percent). The Celtics, on the other hand, converted on 44.6 percent of their shots from the field.
James, who did not play in the fourth quarter, turned in 19 points on 8-15 shooting, seven rebounds, six assists, one block, and one steal in 32 minutes.
“They gave us a good one tonight,” James told Joe Vardon of cleveland.com after Wednesday’s loss.
According to most reports, Thomas will be available for Saturday night’s game against the Orlando Magic inside the Amway Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. EST with Fox Sports Ohio having live broadcast coverage.
