Although the debate now is basically LeBron James vs Michael Jordan there, at one point, was a big argument between who was better: the Cavs superstar or Kobe Bryant?

There are still a lot of Kobe lovers who believe that the former Los Angeles Lakers star is the better one. One place that Bryant has been considered better is with three-point shooting, but one Reddit user (mattrey97) found that might not be the case:

“3pt shooting is often cited as one of LeBron’s primary weaknesses. Yet he and Kobe now average an equal number of 3s per game throughout their careers (4.1) and LeBron has been .014 better from 3 (.343 vs. .329). Maybe I’m wrong about this, but I feel like Kobe is generally considered better at 3s in the Kobe vs. LeBron debate? For reference, Jordan shot .327 on just 1.7 attempts per game.”

It is true that a lot of people believe James isn’t a great three-point shooter, and although he isn’t a Ray Allen or a Reggie Miller by any means he still gets the job done from deep, especially down the stretch of games.

On the season James is averaging 36.5 percent from deep, which if the season ended today would be his second best season ever.

His best season ever from deep happened in 2012-13 with the Miami Heat when he shot 40.6 percent from deep but he only took 3.3 attempts per game. Compare that number to this year where he has attempted 4.9 attempts per game which is on track to be the second best highest number of attempts of his career.

The LeBron James vs Kobe Bryant debate will probably rage on forever, but as one Reddit user pointed out, James has taken another step forward on winning the battle.
