Following their very slow start to the season, the Cleveland Cavaliers have now shown why they are the defending Eastern Conference champions and title favorites, as they’ve piled on the victories lately en route to an 11-game winning streak. A big part of their turnaround is the stellar play of LeBron James, who has been playing with a lot of purpose as of late.
The Cavs superstar has proven throughout his career that he is one of the best all-around players ever, which is once again on full display in their last 11 games. He has been a triple-double threat night in and night out, as evidenced by his stat line over that stretch.
Through 23 games, the former four-time MVP is averaging very impressive numbers of 28.3 points, 7.9 rebounds, 8.7 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.2 blocks in 37.1 minutes. More importantly, he is giving his teammates a lot of confidence by trusting them, and distributing the ball well to give them opportunities to contribute.
If LeBron James continues this hot-streak, a fifth MVP award may very well find its place into his trophy case. However, what drives him the most is their quest to win another championship, which is receiving a huge boost with his superb play. With James’ high level of play expected to continue as the season progresses, it won’t be surprising if the Cavs will make another Finals appearance, and compete for all the marbles.
