LeBron James is having far and away the best 3-point shooting season of his career. The Cleveland Cavaliers superstar is hitting 43 percent of his attempts, which is just inside the top 25 in the league.
But as the Reddit user daveed1297 points out, LeBron has actually been shooting even better the further he shoots. Only three players – Tobias Harris, Klay Thompson, and Mirza Teletovic – currently have a better percentage than James’ 46.7 percent from 25-29 feet.
LeBron James’ shooting has been better on just about every spot on the court this season. His 76 percent free-throw percentage is at the highest it’s been in six years, while his 59 percent overall field goal percentage would be by far a career-best. Whatever he did to alter his shot after an offseason elbow injury, it’s worked wonders.
The improved 3-point shooting is what stands out the most. It’s incredible to see one of the greatest players in NBA history still improving in his 15th season at age 32.
LeBron James has always had seemingly unlimited range over the course of his career. But now, he can hit from close to 30 feet out on a consistent basis and still dominate in the paint almost at will. There’s virtually no weakness in the Cavs MVP’s game at the moment, which is a scary thought for the rest of the league.
