After the Philadelphia 76ers eliminated the Miami Heat from the playoffs on Tuesday night, one of the biggest storylines to come from the Heat side was if Dwyane Wade had played his last game in the NBA. After the game, Wade refused to talk about his future saying it was too early to make the decision.

“That’s not my focus,” Wade told Ian Begley of ESPN. “Fresh off this NBA season, my 15th year, I sit back and think about that. Then I dive and throw myself into my family. They’re next on my bucket list, making sure I’m there for them. And when it comes to the basketball side of it, which is a long time away from now, then I’ll think about that.”

“I love Philly, but ain’t gonna be no breaking news here in Philly,” Wade said lightheartedly. “I’m sorry. I appreciate [the concern], but let me worry about that later.”

On Wednesday before morning shootaround, one of his closest friends, LeBron James, was asked about Wade retiring and he declined to comment. He said he wanted to wait until Wade made his decision before he discussed his thoughts.

James and Wade came into the league together in the 2003 draft class. James was drafted number one overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers while Wade was picked with the fifth pick by the Miami Heat.

They teamed up together and won a couple of championships with the Heat and of course, the two were teammates again for part of the season this year with the Cavaliers.
