As most hoops fans know, this season’s All-Star Game selection process had a new format. Instead of the traditional East vs. West game, teams for this year’s event were chosen by two players who were voted into captaincy: LeBron James and Stephen Curry.

Everything seems in order, right? Well, not so fast, as College Game Day’s Lee Corso would say.

In a strange twist of fate, four members of Team LeBron have went down with injuries, including DeMarcus Cousins (Achilles), Kristaps Porzingis (knee), John Wall (knee) and Kevin Love (hand).

If you’re the superstitious type, you might be thinking that James’ team is cursed.

“Do you feel like your team is cursed?,” Fox Sports Ohio’s Allie Clifton asked James during an interview for the Road Trippin’ Podcast.

“Well, no,” James replied. “Team LeBron is not cursed. When the injuries started happening, I definitely thought about that. I was like, ‘What the hell is going on with my team?’ But the guys that we got coming in.. we’ve got Kemba (Walker), we’ve got Goran (Dragic), Paul George, and we’ve got Andre Drummond — the big fella’, 20 and 20.

“No, we’re not cursed,” James continued. “And I’m looking forward to getting to All-Star Sunday night. Team LeBron vs. Team Steph. We’re coming in with the white uniforms and we’re ready to cook.”

The 67th All-Star Game will be held inside the Staples Center on Sunday, February 18. TNT will have live broadcast coverage beginning at 7:00 p.m. EST. For a full schedule of this season’s All-Star festivities, head over to NBA.com.
