With LeBron James being an unrestricted free agent this summer, most believed that the Cleveland Cavaliers would do anything to keep the four-time MVP. After all, the Cavs’ superstar remains one of the best, if not the best, players in the world, but according to Howard Beck of Bleacher Report, that probably isn’t actually the case.

One of the biggest issues over the past few years has been between LeBron James and Dan Gilbert, and according to one source, that exactly what is going to force him out of Cleveland.

“LeBron wants to be in charge of everything, which is what puts him at odds with Dan,” one source said. “Dan wants to be in charge of everything.”

One way that this source believes that Dan Gilbert will force him out is to not give him a no-trade clause, or do anything that gives him any sort of leverage in the organization. Now, of course, LeBron could still decide to stay on under those conditions and accept the fact that he wouldn’t be getting a no-trade clause, but there is a zero percent chance that happens.

The problems with Gilbert and LeBron started after James left the Cavs, and Gilbert wrote a letter bashing James, and promised the city of Cleveland a championship before James won one with the Heat. Although they set aside their differences for James to return to Cleveland, this time it seems like those differences might just be too much.

Most also believe that this will be the time that LeBron James decides to stick around somewhere, and sign that long-term contract instead of the one or two-year contracts like has done with the Cavaliers.

With James’ kids growing older, this is the time for him to settle down with his family, and get them set for high school and what might be beyond for them.

A lot believe that could be in Los Angeles, while other’s believe it will be in Houston, but one thing is for sure according to this source: it won’t be in Cleveland.
