On Monday night, Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James will host his annual Halloween party from his home in Akron, Ohio.
As most hoops fans know, the Cavs, with all of their talented new faces, have now lost three consecutive games, including Sunday night’s 114-95 loss to the New York Knicks inside Quicken Loans Arena. As a result, their record now stands at 3-4 through the first seven games of the 2017-18 season, but the motto in the locker room is patience.
After Sunday’s loss, Cavs head coach Tyronn Lue spoke to reporters with regards to the funk his team seems to be mired in, telling Joe Vardon of cleveland.com that his players need to “get their spirits right.”
Why are the Cavs struggling, though? Let’s take a look at some rather revealing team stats.
Defensively, the Cavs rank 27th overall, 30th in allowed three-pointers per game (13.8), and 28th in opponents’ three-point field goal percentage. Furthermore, Cleveland, who is allowing opposing sides an average of 114.3 points per game, has failed to hold six of the seven teams they’ve faced this season under 100 total points.
Maybe a team gathering is just what the doctor ordered for the Cavs.
In years past, James has welcomed several teammates to his Halloween bash. Most Cavs fans remember his 2016 Halloween party — a celebration that featured several shots at the Golden State Warriors.
