On Wednesday, the Cleveland Cavaliers matched their franchise-best 13-game winning streak with a 101-95 victory over the Sacramento Kings. The win also allowed LeBron James to be part of both rosters which reached the feat, as he was also with the 2009-10 Cavs squad.

Being the only one in Cavs history to have both experiences, James talked about both rosters and discussed the differences between them. He cited the balance and level of talent the main difference that today’s team own over his old Cavs squad, via David Glasier of The News-Herald.

“We’re more balanced now, much more balanced,” James said of the current Cavs.

“Back then, we’d been together a little bit longer. We kind of knew exactly what to do. We had our system in place,” James added. “Mike Brown had been there quite a while. We knew exactly what we were doing every night defensively and offensively. We’re starting to get to that point now . We’re much more talented today. We have multiple Hall of Famers and multiple all stars on our team now that we didn’t have on that team.”

However, LeBron James also said that he has also seen some similarities, including the confidence they had and belief that they can win every game they played.

“Both teams had composure and the want to defend and execute offensively. Every night we went on the floor (with the 2009-10 team), we thought we could win, every single night, no matter who we were going against. That’s definitely a plus.”

It remains to be seen if the Cavs will be able to extend their winning streak further and own a new franchise-best mark. They will not have to wait long though, as they return to action on Friday to face the Indiana Pacers.
