The game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday had a lot of subplots to it. It was the first game Lonzo Ball played against his ā€œidol,ā€ LeBron James. He has admitted in the past that he thinks of him as the best player today, and wants to pattern his game after him.

Another side story was the former four-time MVP sharing the court with the team long rumored to be his next destination.

Since last year, a lot of talk has been centered around which team James will play for once his current contract expires. He has been linked continuously to the Lakers, being a big market team, and having already bought houses in Los Angeles. However, he downplayed all of the rumors as ā€œfunny noise,ā€ and made it known that he does not pay much attention to the comments fans make on his social media posts.

As the season progresses, it can be expected that the rumors linking James to Lakers will further intensify. It may seem like a distraction to him, but being the veteran that he is, and having a lot of championship experience, it will be hard to imagine him losing focus on winning again this year.

Jamesā€™ comments can also be considered as good news to the Cavaliers faithful, as their teamā€™s franchise player wants to bring back the title toĀ Northeast Ohio. Should that happen, it will add more drama to the decision he has to make over the summer, which is definitely worth keeping an eye on.
