Cavs News: LeBron James (ankle) will miss Cavs wine and gold scrimmage
Deep is a word that’s been thrown around all week when the Cleveland Cavaliers opened up training camp. Now, they’re looking to gel this preseason, and Monday’s wine and gold scrimmage is their first chance to develop some chemistry. However, according to Cleveland.com’s Joe Vardon, the team’s leader will be missing Monday’s civil contest.

LeBron James will surely miss his first chance to play with and against Dwyane Wade in front of fans. Alas, health will always take precedent over chemistry for the Cavaliers who are getting used to longer seasons and older veterans. James impressive record of staying healthy surely makes this injury of no concern. He came to practice Saturday morning to be with teammates even though he didn’t run any drills.
Hopefully as the season draws near, the experience throughout the locker room as well as leadership by James and Wade will make the transition more smooth than most teams that acquire four to five new pieces in a summer.
